As the primary combative force of the Foundation, the Security Department has a plethora of duties available to it. Described below are the primary duties of Base SD and the information necessary to properly perform them.
The most common and, objectively, important duty fulfilled by SD is guarding the Class-D Containment Zone.
Members ranking Security Junior+ must staff the Class-D Containment Zone by standing behind cover at the guard line.
For the guard line to be considered sufficiently staffed, there must be 1 SD at the line for every 3 CDs on the roster. No other SD duties may be completed if the guard line is not staffed, with minimal exceptions that may follow later on this page.
Members ranking Security Cadet will be expected to station around the viewing and lobby area of the Class-D Containment Zone. They will be permitted to Guardline in the event of a Protocol Rise or Riot or when permitted to do so by a member ranking Security Guard.
If none of these are met and there are numerous cadets already stationed at CDCZ, cadets may patrol the site, refer to patrolling section for this part.
Events hosted by civil personnel such as the Scientific Department or the Medical Department involving Class-D personnel require a security escort. For every two Class-Ds participating in the event, one SD must be present.
Once the Class-D(s) is in the transfer chamber, brief the Class-D using the supplied brief. The Class-D must agree to the rules outlined before being transported to the event.
This duty may be conducted when the CDCZ is staffed at a reduced ratio of one SD to four Class-Ds if Normal has been active for the past 20 minutes. If this condition is not met or any protocol other than Normal is active, the standard ratio applies.
Tests hosted in the Moderate Containment Zone may only be escorted by Security Guard+, Heavy Containment Zone tests can be escorted by Security Specialist+ with Epsilon-1, and Junior+ may escort all other event types.
For the duration of this test, you will comply with all instructions given to you by escorting combatives and researchers.
You will not attempt to escape or hurt anyone or anything that you were not instructed to.
You will not speak unless spoken to.
You will receive at most two warnings; on your third, you will be terminated.

Security Department members can patrol other areas of the site that they can access when the CDCZ is staffed at the standard ratio. While patrolling, SD should look out for escaped CDs, hostiles, or any other risks to site security. Members of any rank can perform this duty.
Members can also staff points of interest around the site if the Class-D Containment Zone is sufficiently staffed at the standard ratio. Examples of these points include the Clean Rooms checkpoint, the item SCP storeroom, and the CDCZ viewing room. While in these areas, SD should respond to requests applicable to those areas, like SCP transport requests for the storeroom, and look out for anything that could be a security threat. Members of any rank can perform this duty.
In the event of a containment breach, Security Department members are to abide by orders from Mobile Task Forces however must still have the manpower to operate the Civil Sector breach shelter, Once a member of security is on shelter controls they must announce a 90 second countdown until closure. The shelter should be closed early if an anomaly is nearing the Civil Sector or ordered to by Mobile Task Forces or Security Class-4 personnel, and should remain closed until protocol is off or ordered to by the same parties above.
The Primary Breach Shelter will be closing in 90 seconds, all personnel are to evacuate to the nearest breach shelter.
The Primary Shelter will be closing in 30 seconds.
The Primary Shelter is now closed, vacate to the secondary shelter or state your location to await retrieval by combatives.
During the course of the majority of SD duties, Security Department personnel will come into contact with Class-D personnel. The procedures for interacting with Class-Ds and utilizing the systems related to them are described below.
The Termination and Striking criteria governs force usage and the seclusion of Class-D personnel. When taking any action against a Class-D, you must follow the procedures listed therein.
Code of Ethics; Part II Chapter 3: Termination & Strike Criteria
Should a hostage situation be declared, Base SD is not to interact with it. SD personnel should consider the security class of the hostage and request the body responsible for responding to that type of hostage. While waiting for the response, SD may form a perimeter around the situation to ensure additional personnel do not enter the situation. Additional information regarding hostage situations, including who is responsible for which security class, can be found in the Hostage Regulations
